Frustration took its toll, as Rajon Rondo was ejected during Sunday's loss to the Pistons, following a double technical call after throwing the ball at the referee. You can bet the league will take a look at the incident, but will Rondo be suspended? Should he be?

Simply put, Rajon Rondo got caught up in frustration.

In the third quarter of Sunday's 96-81 loss to the Detroit Pistons, Rondo reacted after a no-call by referee Sean Wright, by throwing the ball at him. Wright proceeded to call a double technical foul, ejected Rondo from the game.

Rondo was frustrated and I don't blame him for being angry. The foul should've been called as he was mauled while driving to the basket. But let's not pretend like this was the first bad call in an NBA game. I'll excuse Rondo for being frustrated, but I can't excuse him for throwing the ball at the ref. He knows that it's something you just can't do.

Will this lead to a suspension for the point guard? Hopefully not, but I wouldn't doubt it. Throwing the ball at the ref will definitely cost him, in terms of being fined, but for the team's sake, let's hope Rondo isn't punished with a suspension as well.

Losing Rondo for even just a game will prove to be costly. Rondo let his emotions get the best of him, but a suspension would mean bad news for Boston.

What do you think? Will Rondo be suspended? Should he be suspended?

Rondo's not the only one who's frustrated

It's safe to say the entire Boston Celtics team is frustrated. You can group the fans in there too, because let's be honest, the Celtics have been tough to watch lately.

After Sunday's loss, Celtics captain Paul Pierce expressed his frustration. From Yahoo Sports:

"Nobody likes to lose, but at the same time nobody likes to lose when you don't feel like you're competing. I mean, if you can go out there and say you gave your best effort and we lose to a better team, then hats off to them. But I think we're a better team than Detroit. They just played harder than us tonight. And we should never come into the locker room being able to say that."

I'd say that pretty much sums it up. I understand the Celtics played without Brandon Bass and Kevin Garnett, but the least they could do is look like they're trying. With Bass and Garnett out, it's the perfect opportunity for the bench to show some heart. That just didn't happen on Sunday though.

Maybe you can blame it on the shortened season and lack of practice time, but the bench just didn't look in sync. You can make excuses all day, but in the end, the Celtics need to find a way to win every night. And they're just not doing that right now.

Doc's relationship with son Austin, growing

While Doc Rivers and the Boston Celtics were losing in Detroit, Doc's son Austin Rivers and the Duke Blue Devils were busy taking down Boston College, in Boston Sunday night.

Rivers, a Duke freshman, played a great game, finishing with 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists. According to WEEI, he said his relationship with his father has reached a new level this year.

“Actually, it’s amazing, I was less busy in high school but my relationship with my dad wasn’t as much,” Austin said. “We talked here and there. This year my schedule’s twice as busy in college but my relationship with my dad has gone above and beyond. I talk to him like every day now.”

Doc has been known to catch Austin's games whenever he has a day away from the Celtics.
