Since 2008, a 28-year-old man from the state of Washington has been going to various high school athletic events trying to get piggyback rides from athletes.

There's weird in the sense of being a little odd, and there's weird in the sense of being creepy.

A story out of the northwestern part of the country is creepy.

A 28-year-old man nicknamed the 'Piggyback Bandit' has been banned from five high school athletic associations. Sherwin Shayegan, of Washington, isn't allowed to attend high school athletic events in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Minnesota or North Dakota.

Since 2008, Shayegan has been going to high school athletic events and trying to manipulate high school athletes into giving him a piggyback ride. Sometimes he blends in with the crowd, but other times he tries to get involved with the teams, such as giving the athletes water. Sometimes his trick is to act like he has some sort of disability, when in fact he's intelligent and looking to pull off his scheme.

Shayegan, who goes 5-foot-8, 240-pounds, has nine warrants for his arrest in Washington. His rap sheet dates back to 2004. He went on a piggyback spree in early February, going to a hockey game in North Dakota (where he got a piggyback from a player) and three basketball games in Minnesota, including one college game.

A reporter with the Associated Press reached Shayegan on his cell phone and requested a comment regarding his antics. Shayegan replied, "I'd prefer not to comment, if that's OK."

That's creepy.
