It's no secret that free agent wide receiver Brandon Lloyd wants to continue playing wherever Josh McDaniels is coaching.

He stated so last season, saying that he's tied to McDaniels, and reiterated those sentiments Monday during an interview with Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

“Yes, I find that very interesting,” Lloyd told Florio when asked about joining the Patriots. “I would like to entertain that and see where that goes. There’s no bones about that. I’ve been very successful in Josh McDaniels’ offense, I really admire Tom Brady, I admire that organization and how they run things over there, so I’d definitely be interested in hearing how I could possibly fit into that equation.”

Lloyd explained why he's been so successful under McDaniels, including during a 2010 campaign when he led the league with 1,448 receiving yards.

"He gave me a really large route tree and just the way the plays were designed, I was put in positions where I could just make catches. I wasn't expected to do anything that I wasn't good at and I think that's what he did for all the receivers," Lloyd said. "He really puts guys in situations to where we're confident and we can perform at maximum levels."

Lloyd is keeping his options open. He said that he'd be open to return to St. Louis under the franchise tag and is going to let his options play out before he makes a decision.

New England also has several options to explore before locking down on one player, but this is a situation to keep an eye on moving forward.
