The New England Patriots have signed kicker Chris Koepplin, according to ESPN Boston.
The UMass product handled kickoff duties for the Patriots last preseason while Stephen Gostkowski recovered from offseason quad surgery. He was released prior to the season.
Gostkowski will be back in 2012.
