Player to watch

Ramon Galloway, G

Galloway is half of the league's highest scoring pair of guards — standing fourth in the Atlantic 10 entering Wednesday's game with 17.2 points per game.

He's an athletic scorer that can fill it up from deep (42 percent from 3-point range) and also get to the rim or get points at the line (77 percent).

The troubles UMass will have in defending him come as much from what he can do as what the Explorers' other guards are capable of. Tyreek Duren (14.5 points per game, 13th in Atlantic 10), averages nearly five free throws per game, and has shown ability as a passer as well. When the Explorers run those two, along with Tyrone Garland and Sam Mills or D.J. Peterson, UMass is going to have to make sure it does a good job both underneath when La Salle tries to penetrate, as well as on the perimeter.
