This is the first of three meetings between the teams. Boston won't see New Jersey again until April for its final two meetings; home (April 4) and away (April 10).

Last season the Bruins won all four games against the Devils.

Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid participated in off-ice workouts Tuesday morning and will return to the lineup. He was excused from Monday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes because of the loss of his grandmother.

Netminder Tuukka Rask should be back between the pipes after having Monday night off.

Anton Khudobin made his season debut and finished with 29 saves in Boston's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.

Rask is 3-0-1 with a 1.96 goals-against average and .925 save percentage.

The Devils are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday and also haven't dropped a game in regulation.

According to the Devils Twitter feed, Johan Hedberg is expected to make his first start.

Hedberg went 17-7 with a 2.23 GAA and .918 save percentage in 27 games last season for New Jersey.
