Three thoughts from courtside in Boston.
Three thoughts from courtside in Boston.
Esho Excellent
UMass forward Maxie Esho has had by far his best performance of 2012-13 tonight, looking like an athletic force inside against the Huskies. Esho has racked up six points and a game-high seven rebounds.
Carter playing heavy-duty minutes
With Cady Lalanne suspended after a weekend arrest, coach Derek Kellogg decided to start Sampson Carter at center against Northeastern, and Carter saw more of the floor than any other UMass player in the first half at Matthews Arena — playing 18 minutes, and is well on pace to break his career high of 30.
Pollard making the most of first start
Northeastern sophomore Demetrius Pollard has made the most of his first career start — leading all scorers with ten points in 16 minutes. His career high of 12 came on Nov. 28 against Maine.
