The Jacksonville Jaguars claimed defensive end Jason Babin off waivers, ESPN reports, just a day after the two-time Pro Bowl selection was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Babin, who had 18 sacks last season, had been one of the disappointments in a reeling Eagles defense with only 5 1/2 sacks in 11 games this season. With the Jaguars, he joins a team tied for last in the NFL in sacks with Oakland, posting just 13 total through Week 12.

It's a return to the AFC South for the 32-year-old Babin, who was a first-round draft pick of the Houston Texans in 2004. He's also played for Seattle and Kansas City.

Babin's 5 1/2 sacks would put him in the team lead for the Jaguars. Each of their current starting defensive linemen—Jeremy Mincey, Tyson Alualu, C.J. Mosley and Austen Lane—has two sacks.
