If healthy, Tom Brady may just have a chance to pass Drew Brees and finish the year as the record holder for passing yards in a single season.
Brees, who passed Dan Marino's 27-year-old mark Monday night, enters the contest 190 yards ahead of Brady, but Saints coach Sean Payton said there’s a possibility he will rest his starters this week against the Carolina Panthers.
“I’m not really aware of the space between the two,” Payton said. “I am probably better off not knowing.”
The Saints can only improve their playoff positioning with a win over Carolina and a San Francisco loss to the St. Louis Rams.
