Hayes averaged 14.7 points per game for the Huskies and won 2 national titles.
ATLANTA — The Atlanta Dream have selected Connecticut guard Tiffany Hayes with their top pick in the WNBA draft.
The Dream didn't have a first-round pick Monday. Hayes was selected in the second with the No. 14 overall choice.
The 5-foot-10 guard helped UConn win two national titles and reach the Final Four all four years of her college career. She averaged 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals during her senior year and says she looks forward being a "complementary player" on a team that has reached the WNBA Final two years in a row.
The Dream added 6-4 center Isabelle Yacoubou in the third round at No. 32 overall. She will not play in the WNBA this season because of her commitments to the French national team
