Guyton recorded 26 tackles in 2011.
The Miami Dolphins signed former Patriots linebacker Gary Guyton to a one-year deal on Friday.
Guyton, a former undrafted free agent, spent four seasons with the Patriots, appearing in 60 games. He started all 19 games in 2009, but steadily fell out of favor with coach Bill Belichick in the following years.
Guyton recorded 26 tackles in 2011 and was a healthy scratch throughout the playoffs, making it clear that both sides would explore other options moving forward.
