Williams led the Minutemen in points, assists and many other categories, and is the first All-Conference First Team selection for UMass since Gary Forbes in 2007-2008.
Chaz Williams made an impression during his first year at UMass. The sophomore transfer from Hofstra wowed UMass fans with an electric game and his unique ability to make his teammates better.
Apparently, his game was noticed across the A-10, too.
Williams was named to the Atlantic-10 All-Conference First team Monday following a regular season that included a team-best 16.2 points, 6.4 assists, 2.3 steals, and 33.8 minutes per game.
The point guard is UMass' 54th first-team selection in school history and the first since Gary Forbes during the 2007-2007 season.
Prior to his transfer, Williams was named to the Colonial Athletic Association's All-Rookie team.
