Will Manny added a pair of goals and Kyle Smith and Mike Fetterly both contributed a goal and an assist for UMass.
Parker Brown scored a game-high four goals for Brown (1-1).
Tim McCormack got the win in net, making 15 saves for the Minutemen. Will Round stopped 11 shots for the Bears.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Western New England 16, Manhattanville 4: Julianne Green and Liz McRoberts both netted four goals for Western New England in its season opener.
Kelsey Sherman (3 assists), Megan Doyle (2 assists), and Jessica Scannapieco all scored a pair of goals for the Golden Bears.
Freshman goalie Emily Castleman (Wilbraham) made 10 saves in her collegiate debut for Western New England.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Salve Regina 70, Elms 59: David McDaniel posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) semifinals for Elms (18-11).
Piere Simpson was the other Blazer in double figures with 12 points and Bryant Corcoran added eight points and 10 rebounds.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Smith 79, Endicott 57: Lizzy BelBruno tallied 15 points, four rebounds and three assists in the ECAC semifinals for Smith (22-6).
Paulina Solis and Amanda Zakoske both netted 11 points for the Pioneers and Rosa Drummond added 10 points and seven rebounds.
With the victory, second-seeded Smith advances to the ECAC Championship against top-seeded Keene State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
MEN’S HOCKEY
Amherst 2, Williams 1: Jeremy Deutsch and Andrew Fenwick both scored goals for Amherst in the NESCAC semifinals.
With the win, Amherst (22-3-1) will host Middlebury in the NESCAC championship on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Justin Troiani scored the lone goal for Williams (12-9-5).
Jonathan La Rose made 27 saves to earn the win in net for the Lord Jeffs. Ryan Purdy stopped 28 shots for the Ephs.
WOMEN’S HOCKEY
Amherst 1, Bowdoin 0: Tori Salmon scored the game-winner for Amherst 28 seconds into the second period in the NESCAC semifinals.
Sinead Murphy made 16 saves and earned the shutout for the Jeffs (21-4-1).
Amherst advances to face Middlebury in the NESCAC Championship on Sunday at 2 p.m.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Elms 3, Bard 0: Carlos DeLeon and Bryson Rainey both hammered home a match-high seven kills in a 25-19, 25-21, 26-24 sweep for Elms (10-5).
Yonalvy Acosta (Holyoke) tallied five kills, five digs, and two blocks for the Blazers.
