Guard Marcus Hill, one of the last players cut from training camp in November, was signed by the Armor this week and will be in uniform when they host the Maine Red Claws Thursday at the MassMutual Center.
D-League teams have until one week after NBA training camps open to carry 12 players, and with the NBA set to open camp, D-League teams have had players invited to training camps but so far the Nets have kept the Armor intact.
The Armor can still lose a player or two to the Nets at any time, but for now they have a full complement of players to take on the Red Claws for the third time.
Springfield has home and away wins against Maine, beating them Saturday in Portland to spoil the home opener for the Red Claws.
While the Armor proved to be in good physical shape with the Saturday win following a Friday night game, the addition of Hill will still provide a breather or two for the backcourt.
JamesOn Curry and Jerry Smith have given the Armor what was expected, but frontcourt players Jeff Foote and Dennis Horner have given the team a big lift on both ends of the floor. The pair combined for 39 points and 16 rebounds in Saturday’s win.
The Armor have won the rebounding battle in all three games this season, and after poor shooting nights in the first two contests, the Armor shot the ball better in the win at Portland, although free throw shooting was poor at 63 percent.
Springfield returns to the road right after this game, traveling to face Fort Wayne on Friday night.
