This is the first-career recall for Hennessy in the Boston organization.
The Boston Bruins announced they've recalled forward Josh Hennessy from the Providence Bruins Monday evening.
The 27-year-old will join the Bruins for morning skate Tuesday before they host the Eastern Conference first-place New York Rangers. It's not known whether he'll be in the lineup.
This is Hennessy's first-career recall in Boston. He's previously been in the San Jose, Chicago, and Ottawa organizations and was a second round (43rd overall) pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
In 49 games this season, Hennessy has 15 goals and 15 assists and as of Monday leads the P-Bruins in goals scored and ranks second in overall points (30).
This is the second recall the Bruins have made Monday as defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk was summoned and practiced with the team in the morning.
