Ebert was a seventh-round pick in the 2012 draft and was released by the Patriots coming out of training camp. He briefly hooked on with the Philadelphia Eagles before re-joining the New England practice squad in November.
The Patriots recently drafted Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce as part of their makeover at the wide receiver position.
