The NBA announced that the Celtics and New York Knicks will begin their first round series Saturday at 3 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.
The time to rest veterans has ended. Rotations are ready to be shortened. If the Boston Celtics possess a switch to flip, Saturday would be a nice time to do it.
The NBA announced that the Celtics and New York Knicks will begin their first round series Saturday at 3 p.m. at Madison Square Garden (ABC).
The schedule for the remainder of the series will be determined at a later time.
(UPDATE: The Celtics-Knicks first round schedule has been released.)
After Boston's 114-90 defeat Wednesday night to the Toronto Raptors, the Celtics will enter the postseason having lost 11 of their past 16 games. But many of the losses came without Kevin Garnett, a few of them came without Paul Pierce, and very little that Boston accomplished (or didn't) down the stretch should factor into how the team performs beginning Saturday -- thankfully for Doc Rivers' team.
As Jason Terry said this week, he's ready for the new season to begin.
It's here this weekend.
