Tom Brady and Danny Amendola aren't taking anything for granted.
The Patriots quarterback and his newest receiver took the first step toward developing a rapport by getting together for an impromptu throwing session Tuesday at USC. Amendola was recently signed by New England to replace Wes Welker, who left to join the Denver Broncos.
Brady and Welker often got together during the offseason and were known for their high level of chemistry and trust, which allowed the pair to connect on 564 passes during Welker's six seasons with the Patriots (Brady missed most of the 2008 season).
Brady has also worked out in Los Angeles this offseason with tight end Aaron Hernandez.
The Patriots offseason program begins April 15, with voluntary organized team activities kicking off May 20.
