Center Nick Drazenovic of the Springfield Falcons has been recalled on an emergency basis by their NHL parent club, the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Drazenovic is second in scoring on the Falcons with 17 goals and 49 points in 54 games as he heads to Columbus for the fourth time this season. He leads the AHL with 27 power-play points (nine goals, 18 assists).
A native of Prince George, British Columbia, Drazenovic skated with the Peoria Rivermen, St. Louis’ primary developmental affiliate, during the first-four seasons of his career from 2007 to 2011. In 378 AHL games between Springfield and Peoria, Drazenovic has 100 goals and 150 assists for 250 points.
The Falcons moved into a four-way tie for first place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 2-1 win over Connecticut on Saturday night. Springfield can clinch a spot in the Calder Cup playoffs on Tuesday night with a home win over Albany and a loss by Norfolk to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
