Rajon Rondo's agent says guard's ACL just partially torn, but Danny Ainge cautions return to Boston Celtics this year still not happening

In typically Rondo fashion, the All-Star has been thoroughly researching his options for what type of surgery he wants done and which doctor he wants to do it, according to his agent.

A six-game winning streak isn't the Boston Celtics' only reason for excitement.

Rajon Rondo's agent told CSNNE the point guard has received good news about his torn ACL. Rather than a full tear, which was initially suspected, Rondo has just a partial tear.

"It's still too early to tell for sure," his agent Bill Duffy told CSNNE.com. "But we are very optimistic about his return now that we know his injury is only a partial tear and not a full tear."

In typically Rondo fashion, the All-Star has been thoroughly researching his options for what type of surgery he wants done and which doctor he wants to do it, according to his agent.

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge told CSNNE.com's Kyle Draper that Rondo's timetable shouldn't change because of the latest news on his knee, and the guard still won't play this season. Nonetheless, the less damage done to Rondo's knee, the better.
