SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Falcons announced on Wednesday that forward Jonathan Audy-Marchessault and defenseman Tim Erixon have been recalled by their NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets also have placed left wing Matt Calvert, a former Falcon, on injured reserve, according to The Associated Press. Calvert sustained an upper body injury in Monday's 2-1 home win over Dallas and is expected to be out about a week.

Audy-Marchessault leads the Falcons with 45 points and 29 assists, placing him third and in a tie for second in the league in those categories, respectively. The second-year pro from Quebec City leads all AHL skaters in January with 17 points (8 goals, 9 assists) and posted his first career hat trick in a 7-5 victory over the Manchester Monarchs on Jan. 15. Audy-Marchessault, who has yet to play in an NHL game, is in the first season of a three-year NHL entry-level contract with Columbus after skating all of 2011-2012 with the Connecticut Whale.

Erixon paces Springfield defensemen with 29 points, including a career-high five goals, in his second professional campaign. He is fourth among AHL defensemen in scoring while checking in third among blueliners in assists. Erixon, a resident of Skelleftea, Sweden, participated in 18 NHL contests as a rookie in 2011-2012 with the New York Rangers, accumulating two assists. He spent the rest of last season with Connecticut. Erixon, who was acquired by Columbus from New York last summer as part of a five-player trade, is in the second season of a three-year NHL entry-level contract with the Blue Jackets. He participated in Columbus' training camp earlier this month.

Audy-Marchessault and Erixon were starters for the Eastern Conference in Monday night's AHL All-Star Game in Providence, R.I. Audy-Marchessault scored a goal in the Western Conference's 7-6 victory.

The Falcons return from the All-Star break when they take on the Syracuse Crunch at 7 p.m. Friday at the MassMutual Center.
