Longmeadow boys and girls ski teams top the first Fab 5 rankings of the season

Here is a look at the Republican’s weekly Fab 5 rankings for the high school ski season:

BOYS

1. Longmeadow

2. Mohawk

3. Minnechaug

4. Amherst

5. Agawam

Note: The Lancers picked up right where they left off last season, this time, with John Mentor at the helm. Expect a good rivalry between Longmeadow and Mohawk this season. Mohawk finished 2.14 seconds behind Longmeadow in the first race.

GIRLS

1. Longmeadow

2. Minnechaug

3. Westfield

4. Agawam

5. Gateway

Note: Katherine Frick finished first overall in race No. 1, leading the Lancers to the top of the bunch. In the competitive North Division, Minnechaug and Westfield will be good competition for Longmeadow.
