Jesse Morgan's show
Perhaps we should rename this to Jesse Morgan's 3-pointer. Morgan nailed all four of his shots from long range on his way to 24 first-half points. Morgan had 16 of his points during a 23-1 UMass run that stretched over 6:40.
Range from everywhere
Both teams were knocking shots down from beyond the arc. The Minutemen finished the half 6 for 11 from long range, while Ohio was 7 for 15. Guard Walter Offutt hit 4 of his 6 3-point attempts, and led the Bobcats with 15.
Back to the line
UMass, which had trouble getting to the free-throw line early in the season, got there a season-high 47 times against Elon, and made 16 trips in the first half against Ohio, sinking 12 of those chances.
