Talib said that he's currently "day-to-day."
The New England Patriots typically keep seriously injured players out of the glow of the cameras, so perhaps it should be taken as a good sign that cornerback Aqib Talib met with reporters Thursday to say that he's feeling good after suffering a hip injury Monday night.
"Just day-to-day injury, just working hard three times a day, trying to get healthy,” Talib said.
Talib was listed as limited in both of New England’s practice sessions this week. His injury occurred when he landed awkwardly on the final play of Monday’s game following a near-interception in the third quarter. He remained in the locker room after halftime for evaluation, but returned to the sidelines later in the game.
His focus is no on the San Francisco 49ers, who come to Gillette Stadium Sunday night, and finding a way to stop their multifaceted attack.
“They got an athletic quarterback who can run and throw," Talib said. "They got a ton of running backs and a real good group of receivers over there. They can attack you in anyway.”
