The Red Sox added Mike Napoli and Shane Victorino this week, but still haven't solidified their pitching rotation.
Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington made a vague comment Thursday morning indicating that he is making progress toward another acquisition or two.
“We spent last night working on a couple of of things but nothing we’re ready to announce,” Cherington said, according to the Boston Globe. “We made progress on one thing but its not quite teed up yet.”
The Red Sox added Mike Napoli and Shane Victorino this week, but still haven't solidified their pitching rotation.
Asked whether the Red Sox would bolster their rotation by trade or free agency, Cherington replied, "I don’t know. We’re not close enough to anything to handicap it. We’re definitely talking about both options."
