The Red Sox are taking the position of hitting coach seriously.
According to the Boston Herald, they will interview Milwaukee special assistant Craig Counsell and New York Yankees Class A coach Greg Colbrunn this week.
Both men had long major league playing careers. They would raise the number of known candidates to five.
Boston has already interviewed former big leaguers Scott Fletcher and Rick Schu, as well as their own minor league hitting instructor, Victor Rodriguez.
Hitting coach Dave Magadan left to take a similar job with Texas. The Red Sox are considering making the hitting coach job a two-man responsibility.
