The Republican’s high school sports staff picked its top highlights from Thursday's action.

Field hockey: Kit Rosen scored the go-ahead goal with 16 minutes left as Longmeadow edged Minnechaug 2-1.

Volleyball: Simone Thibault totaled eight digs, six kills and seven aces as Southwick’s straight-set victory ended Ludlow’s 33-match regular-season win streak.

Girls soccer:Brionna Voight tallied a hat trick for Central in a 6-0 win over Sci-Tech.

Boys soccer: Cathedral rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie Ludlow 2-2 .

Boys soccer: Emerson Bailey scored the lone goal as Southwick beat South Hadley 1-0.
