The United States national junior team has a strong representation of Hockey East players as it prepares to open its World Junior Hockey Championship slate Monday against Denmark at Rexall Place in Edmonton at 8 p.m. (NHL Network).

Bill Arnold of Boston College, Connor Brickley of Vermont, and Adam Clendening of Boston University are members of the team as is Charlie Coyle, who announced that he'd be leaving BU to play in the Quebec Majior Junior League following the tournament.

Arnold scored two goals, the first goal of the game and the winner, when then No.1 BC defeated the University of Massachusetts 4-2 Oct. 21 at Conte Forum. It was the Minutemen's third game of the season.

Clendening had an assist in the Terriers' 2-2 tie with UMass Oct. 28 in Boston.

Former American International College assistant coach Joe Exter, a one-time goaltending standout at Merrimack College, is an assistant on the U.S. team.
