The Republican’s high school sports staff picked its top highlights from Tuesday’s action:
-Boys soccer: West Side’s Alex Kraver made two saves to record his fifth straight shutout in a 0-0 draw with Longmeadow.
- Boys soccer: Ryan Dickinson scored two goals and assisted on two, leading South Hadley to a 3-1 win over Central.
-Boys cross country: William Brunton covered the 2.85-mile course at Monson in 15:39 to help Cathedral beat Mohawk, 20-39.
- Girls cross country: Abbie Yezierski finished first in 19:26 as Mohawk swept Monson and Cathedral.
- Volleyball: Helen Nguyen had seven aces and three kills to lift West Springfield past Pioneer.
