Michael Cox and Hafis Williams enrolled in classes Tuesday at UMass.
Michigan transfer Michael Cox and Notre Dame transfer Hafis Williams have enrolled at UMass for the second summer session and will be ready to work out with the team.
UMass will have 70 members of the football team staying in Amherst this summer to take classes and work out together.
A third, Deion Walker also formerly of Notre Dame, is expected to enroll before the add/drop period ends on Friday.
Cox, a Dorchester native, has one year of eligibiltiy remaining after graduating from Michigan. The running back only appeared in 12 games over three years, with 169 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned some kickoffs.
Williams played in 24 games for the Irish, recording 19 tackles. He played in all 13 games in 2010, but saw action in just five last season.
At 6-foot-1, 295 pounds, Williams could be big addition to the middle of the defensive line for the Minutemen.
The UMass release is here.
Wide receiver Walker could be a big boost as well since the top returning receiver for UMass is Marken Michel with three catches.
