Wilson's great-great grandmother is one of the oldest people in the United States.
New England Patriots second-round pick Tavon Wilson credits his grandmother for making him the man he is today for raising him after both of his parents passed away by the time he was 12.
The defensive back’s great-great grandmother, Eddye Wilson, is his inspiration.
At 112 years old, she is believed to be the oldest person living in Washington D.C., and one of the oldest in the United States.
“She can walk around and stuff and talk and all that,” he said while meeting with reporters for the first time at Gillette Stadium. “It’s just fun to be around her; she’s still a funny woman.”
Eddye Wilson continues to follow Tavon’s career to the best of her ability.
“She’s kind of losing her sight a little bit but she tries to watch me,” Tavon Wilson said.
