Rumors are circulating that New England is looking to trade their two first round picks to Kansas City to move up to the No. 11 slot.

The rumors are already beginning to circulate.

As we grow closer to the start of the NFL draft, an onslaught of rumors and possible scenarios are soon going to flood your Twitter feeds and the blogs you frequent.

Almost all of them will be false, but one caught my eye this morning. There’s suddenly a lot of talk that the New England Patriots could package both of their first-round picks to the Kansas City Chiefs to move up to the No. 11 slot.

According to the trade value chart, the picks carry a combined value of 1,280, placing the Patriots right between picks 10 (1,300) and 11 (1,250).

If the Patriots make the move, it would likely be to take Alabama safety Mark Barron, LSU defensive tackle Michael Brockers, or possibly Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones.

It should also be noted that Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio feels the draft is very deep across the defensive front seven. The team may feel it's possible to move up for Barron and then address other needs in the second round, where New England also has two picks.

Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli used to work for the Patriots, which could make it easier to facilitate a trade, but for now this remains speculation.

UPDATE: According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, the Patriots have contacted Seattle to find out the cost of the No. 12 pick.

UPDATE 2: The Patriots denied reports of talks with Seattle on their official Twitter account.
