A few updates on the Patriots.
A couple of quick notes on the Patriots:
1. Former New England wide receiver Troy Brown will be at Radio City Music Hall for the NFL Draft on Friday to announce the Patriots’ second- and third-round picks.
The league began the tradition last year when it had alumni from every team announce the second-round picks. Hall of Famer Andre Tippett handled to job for the Pats.
2. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced that the NFL has increased offseason rosters from 80 to 90 players. The change will go into effect Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Patriots currently have 74 players on their roster. Only the top 51 salaries count against the cap.
The 90-player limit will include active, inactive, practice squad, exempt players, those on reserve lists, unsigned draft choices and franchise free agents.
Teams will have to cutdown to 75 players following the third preseason weekend. Rosters are then trimmed down to 53 a week before the season begins.
The decision to expand rosters was passed by the Management Council Executive Committee on Monday.
